Good morning, all. Yesterday, I happen to be walking outside of my neighbourhood when a completely random guy ran up behind me, tapped me on the shoulder, and hit me right in the face. He then ran away. I’m not doing this for you to feel bad for me, because I really don’t need anyone’s sympathy. I just wanted to show you all that this stuff is real. Everyday, someone experiences nothing short of pure hate because of who they are. This is just another prime example. It pains me that someone felt they had to go out of their way to hit me in the face, just for being gay. But you know what? I’m grateful. My situation could have been a lot worse. I could have been jumped, stabbed, or even killed. I got away with just a single hit from one guy. Some aren’t as lucky as I was. Perhaps some of you may laugh, and some may not care much, but I’m not asking you to cry for me. I just want you all to be aware that this actually happens. Gay bashing is real. You know, it’s gonna happen, so why try and fight it? We may as well just get along now. But, I can’t make you accept me, and I’m not gonna sit here and try. This is me.
